Make a Difference in the Lives of Children While Exploring the Beauty of Nepal. Support underprivileged children living in children’s homes in Nepal by helping them with homework, organizing creative activities, and teaching life skills. You’ll volunteer in peaceful rural areas or vibrant cities, all while immersing yourself in Nepali culture and truly making a difference. No teaching or childcare experience? No problem, all you need is a kind heart, patience, and a desire to help.
Experience Nepal While Changing a Child’s Life
Step into the heart of Nepal and become a source of love, learning, and laughter for children in need. Our Child Care Volunteering Program gives you the unique opportunity to support underprivileged kids while immersing yourself in the rich culture, beauty, and kindness of Nepalese life. Whether you're helping with homework, organizing creative activities, or simply offering a listening ear, your time will mean the world to a child who’s faced hardship, abandonment, or loss.
Why Your Help Matters
In Nepal, many children grow up in difficult circumstances, orphaned, abused, or living in poverty. Some have lost their families, while others come from homes that can’t provide basic care, education, or love. Without support, these children are at risk of dropping out of school and being forced into child labor. You can be the turning point in their lives. At Ke Garne, we believe every child deserves a safe, nurturing environment. By volunteering, you become a part of their healing and growth, not just by teaching lessons, but by showing them they matter.
What Will You Do?
As a Child Care Volunteer, your days will be filled with meaningful interaction and joyful experiences. Your responsibilities may include:
- Helping with homework and tutoring after school
- Leading fun activities like art, music, dance, games, and sports
- Teaching life skills like hygiene, manners, and basic health
- Reading stories, singing songs, or just spending quality time
- Exposing children to new cultures and ideas that inspire them
You won’t just teach them, you’ll uplift them.
Who Can Join?
Anyone with a kind heart and a desire to make a difference is welcome. You don’t need any special qualifications or experience to participate. To join, you should be at least 16 years old, have a caring heart, an open mind, and a willingness to help. Basic English and good communication skills are helpful, along with the ability to adapt and a love for children. This program is suitable for individuals, couples, families, or groups looking for a meaningful and rewarding travel experience.
Where Can You Volunteer?
Join us in one of three inspiring locations across Nepal, each offering a unique and meaningful experience
Kathmandu- Discover the energy of Nepal’s vibrant capital, filled with ancient temples, bustling markets, and rich cultural heritage.
Riepe Village and Bandipur - Soak in peaceful village life on a scenic hilltop, with breathtaking mountain views and warm-hearted locals.
Nuwakot- Step into a quiet rural setting, ideal for deep cultural connection, reflection, and authentic Nepali living.
We were among the first to introduce after-school programs in these regions. Today, we continue to grow, thanks to passionate volunteers like you.
Volunteer Duration and Responsibilities
You can join the program for anywhere between 2 to 12 weeks, or even longer if you’d like. When you arrive, you’ll receive basic training to help you get started. While the work is generally fun and rewarding, having good physical stamina can be helpful, as some activities may be active. As a volunteer, you’ll support children by helping them with their homework and school activities. You'll also lead fun and creative sessions like games, music, dance, storytelling, singing, and drawing. Teaching simple life skills, such as hygiene and good behavior, is another important part of your role. Most importantly, you’ll encourage the children’s social, academic, and personal growth through your care and support.
Accommodation and Meals
You will stay in safe, clean, and friendly places. You can choose from:
Host Family – A private room and 3 traditional Nepali meals each day.
Volunteer Home Base – Shared rooms with local or international meals.
Project Hostel – A good option if you enjoy a more social environment.
Staying with a host family is a special way to experience real Nepali life. You’ll share meals, learn to cook local food, and be treated like a member of the family. Our local team will regularly check in to make sure you feel safe, happy, and well-supported.
